Poles apart

A fantastic first week back, kick starting our topic of Poles Apart.

It has been so lovely to see the Crocodile's back in class after the Christmas break.

Our topic of Poles apart has started with the Foundation Subject Geography, learning the names of the 7 continents and 5 oceans and ordering these - songs can be found on youtube to listen to and watch, why don't you give this a go over the weekend and see if your little one can name them?

In English this week, we have learnt a penguin story, using actions and movements to help us recite this - Mrs Smyth was very  impressed when she popped in today! We will be innovating this story next week to change some key parts, before writing these ourselves.

Maths has been addition within 20, today we have learnt to add by making 10, so 8 and 3, is the same as 10 add 1. Next week we will move on to subtraction within 20.

RE is about special experiences - we spoke about special books and it would be lovely if your child would like to bring a book in on Thursday to share with their friends. PSHE in our Jigsaw Jack lesson was talking about our Dreams and Goals - these ranged from learning to dance, skip, do the monkey bars and to fly!!!!

Have a lovely weekend and see you all on Monday!
