It's all about Turbo

The children loved having a visitor to their class on Tuesday, Mrs Ward kindly brought in her African land snail Turbo. Most of the children enjoyed holding Turbo and we found out some great facts. Turbo has one foot, loves to eat cucumber, and enjoys a warm bath.

The visit gave the children inspiration to write their recount on Thursday to include adjectives and conjunctions. The best 6 pieces of writing have been put on our star work board.

On Wednesday we went on an expedition to the South Pole to plant our flags into the ice. We followed in the footsteps of Roald Amundsen & Captain Scott in a race to be the first person to the South Pole. We wrapped up warm and took our essentials (food, water, tent, snow poles) and bravely headed into the freezing lands of Antarctica. The children loved looking at all the photographs and hearing the diary entries from the brave explorers from 1911.

The children reached their goal set in PSHE last week of learning the 7 continents and 5 oceans by Friday, we have been singing the song all week.
