Today, Flamingos took part in lots of activities using their favourite story books they had brought in. We began our day by discussing the adjectives they had dressed as, we had glamorous, brainy, sleepy and wise amongst many others. The children then wrote a book review to tell other children about their favourite book and why they recommend other children read it. After break, the children put their creative writing to the test and wrote a story about what happened next in the book they had chosen. Some children rewrote the original story but with different characters. 

After lunch, they redesigned the book cover of their book and produced some lovely artwork. All of their fabulous work has been put together in a special book to celebrate our day. You will be able to browse through this during your parents' evening. 

The day ended with an assembly where Poppy was awarded best dressed adjective in our class. Then the children enjoyed our class story, The Borrowers, before going home.
