A Fabulous Start

Flamingos have had a great start to the summer term.

As we begin the summer term, the Flamingos have returned from the Easter break with a very positive attitude to their learning. We began the term by writing summer poetry, with the children trying to use their words to paint a picture of a summer's day for the reader. They then performed their poetry for the rest of the class. I definitely could imagine the summer days they had described.

We have also begun our term of swimming lessons. After a few worries, the first week, the children have shown great resilience, with all the children beginning to feel confident in the water. I am sure they will all be swimming like fish by the end of the term. They have also shown fantastic behaviour and independence during the walk and getting themselves ready before and after their lesson.

Yesterday, the police spent the day in school. They visited our maths lesson and supported the children with their learning. The children also had time to ask questions. I was very impressed with the questions they asked. At lunchtime, they had a chance to look at the police vehicles and sound the sirens, which they all enjoyed.

I am extremely proud of the brilliant start the Flamingos have made to the term.
