The Languages Lead in school is Nick Browning.

"As the French Curriculum Lead, I bring a deep-rooted passion for language learning, supported by a strong academic and professional background in French, German, and Spanish. With years of experience in language education, I am committed to creating a vibrant and inclusive learning environment where every child feels confident to explore new languages.

My approach is shaped by a belief that language learning is not just about vocabulary and grammar—it’s about opening doors to new cultures, perspectives, and ways of thinking. Through interactive lessons, real-world communication, and creative activities, I aim to spark curiosity and inspire a lifelong love of languages in our pupils."

At Beckers Green, we are proud to offer a rich and engaging French curriculum that nurtures both linguistic skills and cultural awareness in our pupils. Our teaching is guided by the Language Angels scheme, which is fully aligned with the National Curriculum for Languages, ensuring a clear and structured progression in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

We believe a high-quality language curriculum will enable all pupils to learn about another culture, understand diversity and develop tolerance.  It will also enable pupils to foster a love of learning about the world around them.  We recognise that many of our pupils will likely have limited understanding of another language and so expose them to this from a young age.
