What’s the best way our school can cut waste?

Here is the feedback from our big question

What’s the best way our school can cut waste?

  • Encourage each other to put our waste in the bin
  • Encourage each other to use the right bin for waste
  • Put our rubbish in the classroom bin before we go outside
  • We are use our bins at home for waste – such as our snacks and pack lunches
  • We need to have more fruit at breaktime to cut out packaging
  • We could do an assembly on waste, litter and the impact
  • We should have separate bins for different recycling
  • Investigated TerraCycle and Edding are not currently offering free recycling of pens and glue sticks

What else could we do to stop littering?

We encourage others to put it in the bin, and we litter pick at break time. We need to tell people that litter is destroying the habitat – do they know this? Would a consequence stop children from littering?
