Super Me!

To finish our All About Me topic, the Bears transformed into superheroes as we shared the adventures of Supertato, written by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet. When an Evil Pea is on the loose, Supertato, the world's first potato superhero, is just who you need to keep the supermarket and classroom safe.

The mean green pea was up to no good. Luckily, the Super Bears were on hand to help Supertato tackle the mischievous Evil Pea.

We drafted in some lolly stick super me characters too.

We put our superpowers to good use by searching for hidden sounds, numbers and shapes with our supervision, and listening with our super ears on a sound walk in the copse.

We were super writers practising our letter formation and creating speech bubbles.

We were super designers and builders of superhero cityscapes and vehicles.

We created a playdough Supertato and a collage Supertato.

We also created a team of super veg to assist Supertato in his adventures.

Just when we thought we had seen the last of that Evil Pea - he was back! Mwa ha haaa! Quick as a flash, the superhero Bears jumped to help. We had to free some superhero friends that were tangled in laces, and vegetables that were calling for our help. Kapow! We got our revenge by drawing wanted posters, mashing and tangling peas in laces, and designing and building traps.

Our superhero adventures continued outside, as we created a superhero cityscape with bricks, wheelbarrows, construction hats and hi vis jackets. We completed a superhero training camp, scooped the Evil Peas hiding in our water tray, then mashed Evil Peas using our super strength in the mud kitchen. We searched with our super vision to find the supermarket foods in our sand tray to complete our shopping list. We used our super imaginations to play in our popular supermarket, writing price labels and supermarket labels in our mark making area. We hoped to catch the Evil Pea, so we created Evil Pea wanted posters to help us find him.

Supertato and the superhero Bears saved the day! A super end to a super first half-term in school!
