Careers Day

We had some interesting visitors this week in class, sharing information about their careers with us!

This week it has been Careers day across school.

On Tuesday we were visited by Katie from Millenium vets. She is a veterinary nurse and shared lots of fun information about her job, letting us dress up, bandage poorly paws, check for heart beats and talk to us about what she does on a daily basis:

Tuesday afternoon we had Mr Jones visit, he is a pilot and told us about the aeroplanes he flies, the engines, safety back ups and where his favourite place to fly to is!:

We were lucky enough to be joined by Mr Best - Esther's Daddy, who spoke to us about his job as refuse collector - this linked perfectly to our writing based on littering - we couldn't believe how many bins he empties each week!

On Wednesday, we started our day with a visit from Mr Phillips, an architect and building designer, he wowed us with lots of facts about buildings, and helped us to learn about his job by linking it to the instructions in a lego box!

Later on in the day, we had Grace, a graphic designer come to class, she told us all about her studies that lead her to this job, and what she has created - chocolate bars, racing cars and shoes!:

Finally we got to meet Brad, the Jam Man! - a lorry driver for Tiptree Jam factory, he told us what he keeps inside his lorry - a bed, kitchen and even an Xbox!

Thank you to all the visitors for giving up their time to come and inspire us! We loved hearing about the careers and I think there are some exciting futures ahead for my Elephants!
