The Romans are Coming

A great start to the new term.

Giraffes have made a brilliant start to the new term. The children are enjoying our new topic, The Romans are Coming, and are already producing some excellent work in both history and writing.

In writing we began the term by writing a persuasive speech from the perspective of Boudica, rallying her tribe to fight the Romans. The children wrote some fantastic speeches and have definitely improved their powers of persuasion!

We are looking forward to our trip to Colchester Castle to learn more about this fascinating time period.

The children have also been enjoying our science this term, where we have been studying electricity. They now know how an electric circuit works and understand how a switch works.

In the short time, we have been able to go swimming, the children are already gaining confidence in the water and making the most of the lessons to improve their swimming. It is a lovely way to end the school week.
