A Discovery in the Copse!

This morning Mr Ingram asked LKS2 to investigate the strange object he had found in the copse!
Mr Ingram had left some very cryptic clues for us. We started thinking about what the mystery item could be. Could it be a fossil, treasure, money? We had to do some more investigating...
The first clue led us outside. Where could the mystery item be? We found some pencils and an arrow on the floor but were they part of the find?
The second clue told us that the treasure was hidden down low so we checked under all the equipment on the playground but couldn't find anything.
The final clue led us to the copse where we searched and searched until we found a shiny object hiding under the bridge. The next big question was "What was the mystery object?"
We all decided that it was a helmet from the Anglo-Saxon times. Then we went into class and discussed how we could let other people know about our amazing find. We decided to write a newspaper article about the find as this would help inform the general public about the helmet.
We started off by thinking of adjectives to describe the helmet that we would be able to use in our newspaper article.
We will be writing our newspaper reports this week and next so keep an eye out for our published work!
