PE

Our PE Lead in school is Nic Edwards.

As a passionate advocate for physical education, I believe in the power of movement to inspire confidence, resilience, and lifelong wellbeing. Outside of school, I’m a keen runner and paddleboarder—activities that fuel my enthusiasm for promoting active lifestyles among students. Leading PE allows me to share the joy of sport, encourage teamwork, and help every child discover their own strengths through physical activity.

Vision

We believe that Physical Education is essential to developing confident, healthy, and active learners. Our vision is to deliver a high-quality PE curriculum that inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in physically demanding activities, competitive sport, and active play. Through diverse and inclusive opportunities, we aim to nurture physical competence, resilience, and teamwork, while fostering a lifelong love of movement and wellbeing.

Our PE lessons are designed to ensure all children develop a love of being active. We deliver a range of activities including football, hockey, netball, dance and gymnastics. Every child receives two high quality PE lessons a week usually comprising of one indoor and one outdoor lesson. In years three and four children are taken swimming so that as well as learning to swim they also understand the importance of water safety.

As well as our PE curriculum we also encourage all children to be active for at least sixty minutes a day, this includes break and lunchtime playground games and travelling actively to school.

Please see our PE progression document below which clearly shows what content is taught in each year group.
