Poles Apart!

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

The topic for this half-term is 'Poles Apart', a geography based topic focussing on continents, oceans and contrasting polar regions with the desert. We kick-started with some recapping of the continents and oceans and singing some very popular and catchy songs to help remember them.

In literacy, we have been reading the book 'Penguin Small' by Mick Inkpen. We innovated the story this week changing the characters and then re-wrote part of the story. Next week the children will have a go at writing their own story about a penguin.

Maths has been some recapping on equal groups and then moving on to multiplication.

The children have had another star reader test, so their reading book level may have changed slightly. Some will have remained the same, but you will find their level in their reading record.

PE days remain the same so if you can please remember to tie long hair back on   Monday and Wednesday and remove earrings if needed.

Have a lovely weekend!
