Congratulations to Freya for winning the 'Iguanas 2023 Poetry Slam'. All the children read their poems to their small groups before nominating one person from each group to be put forward to the grand final. The six lucky chosen ones then read their poem to the whole class. The children were making their decisions based on: use of figurative language, successfully following the poet's structure and vocabulary choices.
