This week we have started to explore the FunnyBones text as we learn about the body as part of our All About Me topic.
We have created some funny faces on our photographs and have enjoyed building fun selfie jigsaws.
In our creative area we have made skeletons with cotton buds and FunnyBones characters with playdough.
We have explored our senses while learning some practical skills by making tea, grinding coffee beans and squeezing juice. The aroma of the tea flavours were very unusual, and the children used some interesting words to describe them. The citrus fruits were fun to squeeze and most of the children were brave enough to give them a try.
In phonics, our washing line of sounds is filling up, and we are almost at the end of the phase 2 set of sounds. Please keep practising the keyrings and blending cards at home. It truly makes a difference, so thank you. This week's sounds were h, b, f and l.
Finally, it has been a really busy week with lots of singing as we prepare for our Harvest Festival on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. A reminder that EYFS parents are invited to the Tuesday 12th October performance at 2:30pm.
