Healthy bodies, healthy minds!

Another very busy week here in the Elephants class!!

We continued with our 'Super Me' topic.

This week we had a different superhero visit our playground and once again was caught on camera!

We explored lots of different ideas thinking about who they were and what they were doing and then the children wrote their own account of what they think happened.

In maths, we recapped partitioning 2-digit numbers into tens and ones and then moved onto partition a 2-digit number in lots of different ways. The children amazed us yet again with their 10 times tables in TT rock stars ... Many beat their scores from last week and moved up the board.

We have been focussing on science this past 2 weeks and this week was all about the body and staying healthy by exercising and eating well. We took part in a Joe Wicks session to find out more about how exercise affects our bodies and how having a healthy lifestyle is very important!

Today we have learnt about germs and the importance of washing our hands. We have started the bread experiment. One piece of bread was untouched and placed in a bag, one piece was touched by all of us before washing our hands and then placed in a bag, the last piece was touched by everyone after we had washed our hands. We have left them on the window sill and will check them next Friday to see what has happened...

We can't wait to see what happens!!

Have a fantastic weekend!
