Return to school

Looking forward to seeing you on 8th March

I am sure you are aware of the announcement today to open all schools fully on 8th March. We are very much looking forward to welcoming all children back to school on this day and I know you will be pleased that home schooling is coming to an end. We will revert to the arrangements that were in place in September with bubble classes and staggered drop offs to ensure the number of parents on school grounds at anyone time is limited. Please remember the one way systems that are in place, stick to your drop off times and wear a mask on school grounds. The risk assessment and parent guide can be found on our new website under policies and Covid tabs.

Drop off times will be sent out again as a reminder for those of you who may have forgotten. As before I must ask you not to send children to school who have any symptoms at all such as cough, temperature or sore throat, children will be sent home and asked to test if they present with any of these symptoms. This will help to keep everyone safe from infection and to keep all bubbles open. Staff will be wearing masks at all times as the government have decided not to vaccinate school staff. Staff will also be tested twice a week with lateral flow tests.

I intend to open Breakfast club provision after the Easter holidays and to split children who attend into 3 separate age ranges to try to avoid further impact on bubbles. I hope this will help our working parents who rely on this service. This will obviously also rely on my ability to staff the provision, therefore I am hoping staff remain well.

Thank you for your continued support during this lockdown and for supporting your children to complete their work at home. Assessments will be undertaken in the final week of term to identify any new gaps in learning and it is our aim to work as hard as possibly can to fill these gaps during the Summer term. Parents' evenings will take place in the week before the Easter holidays and will be virtual. Mrs Darch will send out details of the booking system soon.

Please feel free to email me if you have any concerns or indeed if you want to share any feedback or thanks to teachers concerning online learning provision. I would love to know your thoughts and be able to share with the teachers who have worked very hard this term (as have many of you!!!). Mrs Christian and I are looking forward to seeing you all (socially distanced and in our masks) at the front gate on Monday 8th March. Keep going with the work for the next 2 weeks, it will really help us when your children return.
